An Application of audiovisual distraction to reduce pain in children with thalassemia and acute disease

Background: Pain during invasive procedures is an unpleasant thing experienced by all children when hospitalized, including with acute illnesses or chronic diseases such as thalassemia. Nurses need to implement interventions from atraumatic care reduce the pain felt children, providing audiovisual distraction techniques. This study aimed see difference in thalassemia and non-thalassemia after being given technique intervention.
 Methods: uses a quasi-experimental method comparing of aged 1-12 years The data collection period was May August 2022 on 33 (15 18 children) using purposive sampling techniques 3 hospitals Jambi.
 Results: Thalassemia no significant compared who were techniques.
 Conclusion: All feel even though have repeated hospitalization experiences, so it important provide nursing for management, especially conditions (thalassemia), prevent further effects recurrent children.
